Sub Groups
The Digital Sub Group
The aim of the Digital Subgroup is to assist photographers, both new to digital photography and the more experienced, by providing talks, tutorials and sharing of information.
The Digital subgroup meets on the fourth Monday of each month (except December) at the Garden City Library Meeting room at the Garden City Shopping Centre, Upper Mt Gravatt, Kessels and Logan Road (entrance off Macgregor Street near the Cinemas - UBD: D12 Page 201), rooms open at 7.00pm. The agenda for the meetings include the following:
- Showcase of images from our members;
- Experienced photographers sharing their secrets and tips;
- Demonstrations of new software programs;
- Audio Visuals;
- Guest speakers;
- Audio Visuals from club members;
- Group discussions;
- Digital photography news.
Refreshments are available and a small donation to cover costs is appreciated.
Members are encouraged to submit images for the meetings by no later than the Friday preceding each meeting. The following information may assist in the selection of the images:
- The subject matter is open;
- The image should not be greater than 1024 pixels wide and 768 pixels in height;
- Author's name and title on the image is optional;
- You should include your name in the covering email so that this can be included in the slide show.
The National/International Group
Coordinator: John North
Meetings are normally held at Julie Geldard’s house.
Beginner’s Digital Group
Meets the third Monday of the month.
Meeting are normally held at the home of John Holford
Coordinator: John Holford.
If possible, participants should bring their own laptop (although this is not mandatory) for hands on training.
Monochrome Group
Meets the third Wednesday of the month.
Coordinator: Warren Veivers.
Beginners Group
Meets the third Thursday of the month.
Coordinator: John Holford
The Beginners Subgroup meeting is held in the Church Hall building at 7:30pm on the third Thursday of the month. It is NOT held in the main hall but instead the small meeting room adjacent the main hall. Entry is via a door to the left of the main entrance (at the front of the building). N.B. There are line dancers in the main hall at the time we meet.
The meetings are of 2 hour duration.
The cost is $3 to help pay for the hire of the room.
The meeting is open to all members, not just members who have just joined. Come along whenever the topics of discussion appeal to you.
