Digital Image Improvement Group Meeting

 The Digital Image Improvement Group meets online on the Monday prior to the Competition Entry due date of each month.

The digital image improvement group is a collaborative meeting where we help photographers get the most from their raw images, developing digital negatives with creative choices to transform a good image into an award winning one.
We also discuss the perspective, settings and lighting and how that impacts the final image.

Login details of the meeting are sent out to members prior to the meeting.

Victoria Purdie - Mobile Phone Photography/Videography 

Victoria will take us on a wide ranging and insightful tour of "all things mobile phone", sharing many expert tips and smart advice. Covering such things as techniques for close up, night-time and scapes along with the use of accessories and how to best to store images and videos to keep them safe (hint: don't ever just keep them on Facebook!) she will show us how to get the best from our phones.  Victoria is a fantastic and engaging speaker with a wealth of knowledge to share. She loves to give presentations and it shows.  She is also an accredited photography Judge, Vice President of the Photography Society of Qld and current Chair of the Judges Exec Committee of Qld.   

Geoff Hui - Capturing the Decisive Moments in Wildlife Photography 

Geoffrey Hui (GMAPS, EFIAP Bronze) will give a practical talk on understanding animal behaviour, planning your shots, and using your camera with confidence to capture rare, powerful moments in the wild. Discover techniques and creative insights to help you create images that stand out. 

Entries Due - Annual Competition

Your images for the set subject of Annual Competition (1 open subject images, 1 set subject Images) are due by 9PM Wednesday, 11th of November 2026.

Definition:

Only images captured within the past 12 months from submission date are eligible.
Images that have received an Honour or a Merit may also be submitted into this competition.

The Competition Categories (one Image per Category) are:
• Print - Colour - Open Subject
• Print - Monochrome - Open Subject
• Digital Image - Colour - Open Subject
• Digital Image - Monochrome - Open Subject

The competition is conducted in two grades:
• A grade members
• B (includes both AB and B grade members)
